I’ve spotted Burt’s Bees products numerous times at the drug store however for some reason they never really attracted me. But when my colleague handed me a bottle of Burt’s Bees Anti-Blemish Purifying Gel Cleanser and Anti-Blemish Daily Moisturizing Lotion, I finally thought to give the skin system a try. And I’m glad I did!
Made with 99.4% natural ingredients, the gel cleanser is quite watery when you first squeeze it out into your hand, but works into a nice lather once applied to the face. It’s very gentle and leaves the skin feeling refreshed and smooth after rinsing. It has a sweet, earthy fragrance but I love it because it isn’t over powering. The moisturizer has a smooth, creamy texture and is 100% natural. I used a couple of pumps and worked them between the hands before applying to my face. The product went on warm and felt soothing, perfect for those chilly fall mornings. A few minutes later, my entire face felt moisturized and had a healthy glow.
If you’re looking for an all natural anti-blemish skin system at an affordable price, the Burt’s Bees line is definitely one to consider. I can’t wait to try the rest of the products by this brand!
No. 7 Quick Thinking 4 in 1 Wipes
Okay, so I may not always be the picture of proper beauty regimen. Often it's too many steps and too much time, especially in the summer. Most days in the oppressive humidity, it's enough to even put on clothes, never mind a three- to four-step skin care "solution". Thankfully Boots Drugstore and their own No. 7 brand have the perfect thing for my seasonally lazy ass : No. 7 Quick Thinking 4 in 1 Wipes. Designed to clean, tone and moisturize in one little towelette, the pro Vitamin B5, witch hazel and fennel extract clears pores, softens skin and leaves you feeling like you've accomplished something!
Kiss My Face Peace SoapLike a lot of people, my mother taught me valuable lessons throughout my childhood, adolescence and into early adulthood when I was still somewhat impressionable. Don't even bother to open the bill if you can't afford to pay it. Never match your shoes to your handbag. Money does you no good when you're dead. And so the other night when a friend asked me if I had savings I said yes, but not the conventional kind with interest and tax rebates. I bank in karma. Which is why Kiss My Face Peace Soap is ideal. It satisfies both my affinity to vanity and my need to do some good in the world no matter how small. Peace Soap is made from pure castille soap and comes in a number of "flavours", from lavender mandarin to lemongrass clary sage, to grassy mint. It's biodegradable, paraben free and contains no artificial fragrances. And it also makes a huge contribution to the karma bank every time I buy it! Proceeds (10% of profit) from the purchase of every Peace Soap go toward an organization called Seeds of Peace. Its mandate? To bring together youth from conflicted countries like India and Pakistan and Isreal and Palestine, and create an environment where they can learn from each other and see that the "enemy" can actually be an ally. Peace Out!
As stress set in, in my late 20s, I started to break out and turned to Proactive to keep the adult acne at bay…until I realized that the bleach spots on my pillowcases, towels and favourite tees were due to the popular skin treatment. It can’t be good for you to put something on your skin that bleaches your sheets so I vowed to ditch it as soon as I found an alternative. Three sheet sets and two towels sets later I discovered The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion and tossed the Proactive forever. I’ve been using the fade night lotion alone for about a year now with hardly any breakouts…and zero bleach stains.
I spend alot of time cooking but recently I noticed how much time I've been spending cleaning stuff like raw chicken off my soap dispenser. So when the LYSOL® No-TouchTM hand soap system came across our desks, I did a little happy dance. Unlike most automatic systems where you find yourself waving your hands around trying to get the water, hand dryer, soap, etc to function, this dispenser works like a dream. After holding my hand under the nozzle for about 1 second out came the perfect amount of cucumber smelling soap. Whereas some dispensers cost over $40 each this one sells for $14.99 for the complete starter kit (including batteries and soap).
