Organic_foaming_face_wash120 I never had to worry about sensitive skin in my teens and twenties but it seems as I’ve gotten older I’ve become more like my mother in more ways than one. Now I have to deal with super-sensitive skin every day. Adding to my skin freak-outs was the fact that I would change my skincare routine monthly looking for the perfect regimen…and I’ve FINALLY found it. A huge component of my perfect skincare routine is the Organic Foaming Face Wash from Consonant Body. It’s gentle enough for my irritable skin and packed with nourishing botanicals, like tea tree oil and grapeseed oil, to help hydrate skin, eliminate uneven skin tones and fight blemishes. Just because it does wonders for me doesn’t mean it’s going to be your saving grace though. The face wash is $18 and should last you a couple of months, but if you want to take Consonant Body’s 30 day challenge, you can get the face wash, moisturizer and eye cream all for $90, and, if after a month, you don't think your skin looks and feels healthier and younger they will refund your money no questions asked. What do you have to lose? Consonant Body products are available at consonantbody.com, and select Bay and Sears department stores.

Dermalogica-daily-microfoliant150 If you’ve read about some of my other favourite products you’ll know that I’m mainly concerned with having perfect looking skin. I long for the days when I was 19 and should have been suffering from acne but had a flawless complexion. I’m paying for it now that’s for sure. I’ve recently created a new cleansing regimen that I’m pretty anal about following. It requires 3 little bottles of goodness – one is the Consonant Body Foaming Face Wash, which I use to cleanse my face at night, one is the Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion from Body Shop, which I use as my night time moisturizer, and the last is this little pièce de résistance…the Daily Microfoliant from Dermalogica. Every morning after my shower I combine a teaspoon of this rice-based enzyme powder with water, lather it up and massage it into my face for about a minute.  The gentle formula is easy on my super-sensitive skin, but still removes dulling debris from the surface for a brighter and healthier look that's as soft as a baby's bottom.

Burtsbees I’ve spotted Burt’s Bees products numerous times at the drug store however for some reason they never really attracted me. But when my colleague handed me a bottle of Burt’s Bees Anti-Blemish Purifying Gel Cleanser and Anti-Blemish Daily Moisturizing Lotion, I finally thought to give the skin system a try. And I’m glad I did!

Made with 99.4% natural ingredients, the gel cleanser is quite watery when you first squeeze it out into your hand, but works into a nice lather once applied to the face. It’s very gentle and leaves the skin feeling refreshed and smooth after rinsing. It has a sweet, earthy fragrance but I love it because it isn’t over powering. The moisturizer has a smooth, creamy texture and is 100% natural. I used a couple of pumps and worked them between the hands before applying to my face. The product went on warm and felt soothing, perfect for those chilly fall mornings. A few minutes later, my entire face felt moisturized and had a healthy glow.

If you’re looking for an all natural anti-blemish skin system at an affordable price, the Burt’s Bees line is definitely one to consider. I can’t wait to try the rest of the products by this brand!

Boots No. 7 Quick Thinking 4 in 1 Wipes
Okay, so I may not always be the picture of proper beauty regimen. Often it's too many steps and too much time, especially in the summer. Most days in the oppressive humidity, it's enough to even put on clothes, never mind a three- to four-step skin care "solution". Thankfully Boots Drugstore and their own No. 7 brand have the perfect thing for my seasonally lazy ass : No. 7 Quick Thinking 4 in 1 Wipes. Designed to clean, tone and moisturize in one little towelette, the pro Vitamin B5, witch hazel and fennel extract clears pores, softens skin and leaves you feeling like you've accomplished something!

Ener-C Gel Cleanser Etival Laboratoire ENER-C Gel Cleanser

When I entered my 30s, not only did I realise that not paying my bills was not punk rock but just plain stupid, I also was faced with the harsh reality that I had to wash my face. Blessed with good skin, over the years I had washed once or twice when forced to wear foundation or there was a terrible rib mishap, but generally I removed my eye-makeup with a moisturizer, splashed some water on my face and called it a night.

So having spent the past 20-odd years dodging cleanser, it took a lot of shopping around before finding what I realise I can no longer live without, Etival ENER-C Gel Cleanser. It has a lightly foaming formula that washes away dirt and makeup with it's gentle formulation and even gentler exfoliating ingredients. It hydrates, brightens, refreshes, rejuvenates and does pretty much everything short of call me a cab. Which I would simply take to Shopper's Drug Mart to replenish my stock!

ILysol 150 spend alot of time cooking but recently I noticed how much time I've been spending cleaning stuff like raw chicken off my soap dispenser. So when the LYSOL® No-TouchTM  hand soap system came across our desks, I did a little happy dance. Unlike most automatic systems where you find yourself waving your hands around trying to get the water, hand dryer, soap, etc to function, this dispenser works like a dream. After holding my hand under the nozzle for about 1 second out came the perfect amount of cucumber smelling soap. Whereas some dispensers cost over $40 each this one sells for $14.99 for the complete starter kit (including batteries and soap).
