Simply_ageless_blush_1 It may seem like an old lady cosmetic item, but not only is blush a hot look right now for women of all ages, but in the grey of winter, it can make you, and your look, come to life. Inspired by a colleague in the early summer who always looked so refrehsed, I started working blush into my very small 5-minute makeup routine. The extra 20 seconds has certainly more than paid off since I no longer feel like the walking dead on those mornings when the sun has still yet to rise and you find yourself already at your desk. Cover Girl and Olay Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush not only gives you the colour you want, but in the winter, helps your skin gets the moisture you need.

Skii In the industry, it's understood that beauty editors don't wear makeup — or at least not alot of it. A lipstick/gloss, concealer and maybe mascara, but the idea that we spend hours getting ready in the morning applying everything from primer to powder, is ridiculous. We simply don't have time... and we know you don't either. But what we never skip is taking care of our skin. My favourite product? SKII Facial Treatment Masks. Cheap? Not a chance! Worth it? Every penny! Ten treatments come in a box and if you average out the cost over the 10 treatments,  it's far less than a facial. The treatments are essentially paper masks soaked in the magic that is SKII. Do like the pros and start with a perfect palette!

Carrot-moisture-cream If you’re looking for a rich, moisturizing cream that doesn’t feel greasy on your skin, look no further.

The Body Shop’s Carrot Moisture Cream is the perfect rescue for your skin during the cold, dry Canadian winters. Made with Community Trade beeswax, carrot oil and sweet almond oil, this softly scented cream goes on thick, but absorbs quickly leaving your skin feeling soft and supple. It works for all skin types (really!) and is available at a modest price of only $6.

The best part…it doesn’t actually smell like carrots!

Burtsbees I’ve spotted Burt’s Bees products numerous times at the drug store however for some reason they never really attracted me. But when my colleague handed me a bottle of Burt’s Bees Anti-Blemish Purifying Gel Cleanser and Anti-Blemish Daily Moisturizing Lotion, I finally thought to give the skin system a try. And I’m glad I did!

Made with 99.4% natural ingredients, the gel cleanser is quite watery when you first squeeze it out into your hand, but works into a nice lather once applied to the face. It’s very gentle and leaves the skin feeling refreshed and smooth after rinsing. It has a sweet, earthy fragrance but I love it because it isn’t over powering. The moisturizer has a smooth, creamy texture and is 100% natural. I used a couple of pumps and worked them between the hands before applying to my face. The product went on warm and felt soothing, perfect for those chilly fall mornings. A few minutes later, my entire face felt moisturized and had a healthy glow.

If you’re looking for an all natural anti-blemish skin system at an affordable price, the Burt’s Bees line is definitely one to consider. I can’t wait to try the rest of the products by this brand!

Nanoblur When Indeed Laboratories invited me to attend the launch of their new anti-aging product, Nanoblur, I was expecting just another average anti-wrinkle cream that rarely ever lives up to the manufacturer’s lofty promises of making you look years younger.

Much to my surprise, this product was nothing like what I’ve seen before! The creamy white product can be applied straight to the skin or over your makeup and feels just like a foundation primer. At first, you don’t see a difference but within a minute, there is a dramatic change to the appearance of the skin. Wrinkles and fine lines are gone, pores are smaller, blemishes fade, and the surface of the skin is completely matte! Skin appears to be absolutely flawless, and looks like you’re wearing the perfect amount of natural looking makeup.

I recommend this product to women (and men) of every age. You really have to try it to see just how amazing it is.

Clearasil-overnightlotion My super sensitive, combination-oily, acne prone skin is the bane of my existence. I have dabbled from treatment to treatment in search of the perfect 3-step skincare routine but always find myself stuck with a moisturizer that just doesn’t do the trick. Most regular moisturizers are too greasy and most oil-free formulas aren’t moisturizing enough. The Clearasil Ultra Overnight Face Lotion really is the perfect balance. The formula is light, non-greasy and takes only seconds to absorb into my skin. After just one use, I woke up to skin that was baby soft yet completely shine free. After a few uses my skin looked clearer and smoother. This product is now officially part of my nightly bed-time routine.

Tea_Tree_Blemish_Fade-Night-Lotion100 As stress set in, in my late 20s, I started to break out and turned to Proactive to keep the adult acne at bay…until I realized that the bleach spots on my pillowcases, towels and favourite tees were due to the popular skin treatment.  It can’t be good for you to put something on your skin that bleaches your sheets so I vowed to ditch it as soon as I found an alternative.  Three sheet sets and two towels sets later I discovered The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion and tossed the Proactive forever.  I’ve been using the fade night lotion alone for about a year now with hardly any breakouts…and zero bleach stains.

PrepForColour-P+PSkinBrighteningSerum-300

MAC Prep + Prime Skin Brightening Serum

I far too often fall victim to the "work hard, play hard" adage that haunts the urban gal. Although it's sometimes glam and frequently fun, late nights and early mornings mean I do suffer the side effects, most noticeably a lovely grey pallor upon my visage.

Which is why, MAC Prep + Prime Brightening Serum is my ace in the hole. Formulated to help those of is who burn the candle at both ends, the serum brightens, smooths, firms and hydrates. Now that's a cocktail I can get behind.

Kiehl's Facial Fuel Eye De-Puffer

I come from a long line of vain. Concerned with frown lines and dark circles, my mother tortured herself regularly with the "what if I just had an eye-lift?" question, and the "bring me some tape. let's see what a little tuck would look like." challenge. Had she only waited for this life saver before finally going under the knife she could have saved a mint in doctor's bills.

Lightweight, non-greasy and refreshing, this under eye salve provides amazing hydration, lessens the appearance of dark circles and is an essential for any girl who might not always get her beauty rest.

BodyShopSummerLotion85

The Body Shop Vitamin E Everyday Summer Face Lotion (Fair to Medium)

Ever since I tried some of the gradual fake tanning lotions for the body a couple of summers ago, I’ve been dying to find a nice one for the face.  I love gradual tanning lotions because there is no way you can mess up.  The tan builds over a period of time so it’s near impossible to get a streaky fake looking tan.  This Body Shop product came across my desk in May and I just love it. It’s a light everyday moisturizer that is formulated specifically for the face, plus it builds a nice natural looking tan in just a few days.
